“We rented the Nutmeg cabin for our family of 4. The 2 boys thought the loft was a fun place to sleep. Everything was clean and as described. The Nutmeg as down the same lane as another cabin, so quite secluded but not entirely. It was perfectly located near Mammoth Cave and other nearby attractions. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub after a day of exploring. If I had to mention any downsides, it would be that the cabin is a snug in the living room area and we had to use one of our folding chairs so we could watch TV. The cabin will sleep 4, but there's not enough seating for 4 in the living room. Not a big deal since we had great weather to enjoy the back deck and hot tub. The TV was a bit small by today's standards, but still a nice flat screen. Overall, a great alternative to a hotel room at a very reasonable price. Very quiet. Loved it!”
“I stayed a few weeks ago with my grandson and 2 nephews. The cabin was very cozy and in a peaceful setting. The amenities in the cabin were as described. The disc golf course was also a good place for a short hike. The ferry was closed so our drive to the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center was about 40 minute on well maintained country roads. We had family members staying nearby at Nolin Lake State Park which was about a 10 minute drive. I highly recommend both locations. The owners were very helpful. We really enjoyed our few days of quiet in the country.”
“Beyond our expectations! My husband and I called everywhere in Indiana , “we wanted to be spontaneous “! So I finally thought to try Kentucky and called and you couldn’t get better service! So friendly and was so accommodating! Couldn’t get a better place to spend Valentine’s Day and /or a better place! Comfortable bed and so homey! You won’t be disappointed here!”
“We stayed in the Nutmeg cabin for three nights this week and I am so glad we chose this place! Frank, our host and owner, was great! The cabin was perfect for our family of three and was on a quiet property that also had a disc golf course. The cabin was very clean and and met all of our needs. I would would recommend this place! Thank you Frank!”
“Wonderful area to relax. Not a bad drive to Mammoth Cave as long as the Green River Ferry is running. We stayed in Nutmeg Cabin and it was perfect for my partner and I. We very much enjoyed eating on the deck, listening to the frogs and star gazing in the hot tub at night.”
“My husband and I stayed in the nutmeg and had a wonderful time! It is the smaller cabin, but for the two of us, it was perfect. There is a hottub on the back porch and we watched the fireflies and looked at the stars while we relaxed in it. The owner runs the whole place and he is wonderful. He talked to us about the disc golf course on the property and about the cabins, he has a lot of pride in the place and it is wonderful to see. We aren't from Kentucky so he was also very helpful to show us all of the places we should go see or shop for snacks. We will definitely come back in the future.”
“We stayed in the Big Leaf cabin. It was super clean and cozy. We had a slight problem with fridge and it got fixed right away, great service! We enjoyed very quiet evenings by the fire, and with a spectacular starry sky. It was a little bit closer to the smaller cabin than we hoped, but we never heard a peep from that cabin anyway. The kids loved the raised loft, it was their own personal domain. Due to a ferry being down it was about a 40 minute drive to the Mammoth Cave visitor center, but it is a very scenic drive and we didn't mind. For the price and seclusion it was totally worth what we paid! We had a great time there and hope to return in the future!”
“My husband and I were looking for some relax time. We needed a quiet break from the hustle and bustle especially leading up to the holidays. Hickory Haven was perfect for us. The cabin was clean and we had everything in the kitchen we could’ve needed. The hot tub was very nice and sitting on the deck with a drink or coffee was wonderful. The charcoal grill wasn’t great but we made it work. The mattress was too soft for our personal taste but not a deal breaker. Frank and his dog Cody were wonderful, friendly hosts. There is plenty to do and see in the area. We will definitely return.”
